After reading the first time a description of the materials from which made the tent is not always clear what is meant by all these acronyms. And if you can not "see and touch" these materials, it is generally understand what is at stake. We will try to solve this puzzle. First of all, you should know that almost all the quality tents made from nylon and polyester fabrics. Each of them has both its advantages and its disadvantages, and this is due to their use. Polyamide fabrics are very strong and durable, but at the same time they stretch when wet and are destroyed by ultraviolet light. In addition, the polyamide fabric is very lungs, which causes their use in tents, where the weight is very important.

Polyester fabric is heavier than nylon, but they are resistant to uv and do not stretch when wet. In addition, they are no less strong and durable. It is also worth noting that the cheaper polyester fabric polyamide, which is somewhat restricts the use of the latter. For the production of domestic awning sometimes use cotton cloth, or a combination of polyamide and polyester fabrics. In this case, in the first place there is a level of ventilation rate. Tissue from which the tent-making, are named according to the used form of weaving. Most popular – Oxford and Taffeta. Oxford cloth is stronger, than Taffeta, but heavier and less elastic, thus, more often with this type of fabric weaving used in the production of the bottoms of tents.
